Over the past 20 years I have noticed that the cost of Scottish attire and other Scottish accessories such as sporrans has been constantly increasing while the quality of the goods available from many of the vendors seems to be decreasing. I have always been interested in finding the best quality possible in the things I purchased for myself and found the best suppliers of high quality merchandise available. In some cases this is through suppliers in Scotland and in some cases it is through artisans and craftsmen in this country. When I retired early in 2000, I decided to start Douglas House of Scottish Designs and share my years of experience with you. I believe that you will find our prices very competitive and I promise that you will never be disappointed in our quality. Our kilts and ladies kilted skirts are hand crafted by Scottish craftsmen, never from Taiwan, Mexico or any other 3rd country. The only exception will be if your garment is made by one of our own craftsmen here in America and then only if I am confident that we can produce an equal or better product at a lower cost to you than the Scottish import. You will always be told if your garment will be produced in Scotland or here in America. Our primary concern is that you get a product of the very highest quality at a very competitive price.
